Barbara Drown
Barbara L. Drown, age 75 of Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday July 22, 2008 at Bethel
Home in Oshkosh. She was born in Oshkosh on June 26, 1933 the daughter of the
late Clark and Kathryn Schreiber Drown. Barbara was a graduate of Oshkosh High
School and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She taught school in Pembine and
Cambellsport, Wisconsin, and then retired after 45 years as a Research Analyst
from the Division of Corrections, State of Wisconsin in Madison. She was a
lifetime member of A.C.L.U., the Democratic Party, was a shareholder of the
Green Bay Packers, which she loved dearly. She was an avid reader and history
buff and loved to travel. She took her nephew and nieces on trips to New York,
San Francisco and Austin, Texas. Barbara is survived by one sister, who cared
for her over the last few years: Patricia Steffens, of Oshkosh, one nephew: Mark
Steffens, Milwaukee, three nieces: Kathy (Mark) Simanek, of Excelsior,
Minnesota, Linda (Rob Lucjak) Steffens, of Cedarburg, and Lisa (Edsel LaBillois)
Steffens, Oshkosh. In accordance to Barbara's wishes, no formal funeral services
are being held. If you wish to donate to Barbara's favorite charities, they are
the Oshkosh Humane Society, the Oshkosh Salvation Army, and the Oshkosh Public
Library.
