Loretta C. Kunz (nee Cahill), 86 of Oshkosh, stepped into eternal life on
Monday, June 2, 2008 at Park View Health Center. She was born May 11, 1922 in
Yonkers, New York to Loretta and Clarence Cahill. Her forever love of planes
strengthened with time in the US Army as an Air Traffic Controller. While in the
Army she met and married Ward L. Kunz at Kearney Air Base on April 24, 1945.
Home and heart then settled for over 50 years in Lannon, Wisconsin. Loretta
treasured her family, friends, and the love of the community at St. James church
in Menononee Falls. She was a homemaker and spent many hours cooking and canning
a wide variety of foods. We know there is banana bread in heaven. In recent
years she found quilting at the senior center very rewarding along with bingo
outings with the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother. She spent time writing and had
a strong poetic flair to her recent works. Over the past year, her family at
Park View provided tender, loving, compassionate care that guided her days.
Loretta is survived by her children, Jennifer Mulholland of Richfield, Bob
Mulholland of Butler, Lynne and Michael Elder of Oshkosh, and Paul Kunz of
Pewaukee; grandchildren Megan and Jessica Mulholland of Richfield, Abigail and
Nate Elder of Oshkosh, and Aidan Kunz of Pewaukee; 1 brother Herbert Cahill of
Stoneridge, New York; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kunz of Greenfield, WI; a
sister-in-law Donna Kunz of Jamul, CA. She is further survived by nieces,
nephews, and treasured friends. Ward preceded Loretta in death in 1996. Funeral
services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at St. James Parish
(W220 N6588 Town Line Road, Menomonee Falls, WI), http://www.stjames-parish.com.
Visitation will be held starting at 9 a.m., Wednesday until the time of the
service. A luncheon will be held following the service. The family would like to
thank the staff at Park View Health Center for their dedicated care and
friendship during this past year.
